YANG WAXING / YIN RISING

Sunset bike ride on the Huckleberry Trail,
Body connecting with the air.
Deep breaths
spiraling in and out of me,
accessing the Moment,
rewriting the code
for this program.

Gratitude.
Joy in the moment,
in the movement,
in the piston pump of
Life energy.
Pedals rising, resting, and falling—
the Wind in my hair
and against my face.
It’s a miracle!

Then the supreme gift of the ride:
I stop by rolling farmland
directly between the setting sun
(blazing red-orange seed of my world)
and the rising moon
(nearly full—beautiful Grandmother smiling down).
I stand facing the sunset—
relaxed,
alert,
at peace—
receiving the baptism of Love,
the amazing energy and power
in the moment of the setting Sun,
perfectly balanced by the Moon,
her face bathed in the pink glow
of daylight’s loving farewell.
