| From the Author:
Thank you for sharing my poetry with your website visitors. The
Rail Ride was written after my first major loss, my son, Jim, on
November 2, 1989; Father and Son was written after
the loss of (Jim's) son Greg - my grandson, on April 26, 2002; and 13TH
REMEMBRANCE was written for my son's 13th Memorial
(November 2002).

THE RAIL RIDE
It's raining and my heart aches
My whole body shakes this rail ride makes
Going to see Greg, the whistle blows
Seems like very one knows how sad I am
My heart aches, time, I need time.
Without the rain there is no sun
The confusion stays, still can't believe Jim's gone
I've got to put this aside--my grief I cannot hide
The earth's so green; water like glass
There's too many thoughts, the confusion will last.
Pass through Groton, now in New London
I remember well when Jim's time was here
Niantic was the place; it's not so long ago
Our lives have changed so much since then
Life is ever changing--nothing stays the same.
A deer in the field, nature is wonderful
Two swan on the pond, I can't see beyond
Can life be serene? I think not.
Only when I'll be with Jim and him with God.

FATHER AND SON
Since my rail ride to Aberdeen in July 1990
My grandson, Greg, has joined his Dad
He will never again feel lonely
He will never again feel sad
And I can say that when I die
Jim and Greg will be waiting in Heaven's Sky.

13TH REMEMBRANCE
November 2 is the date we said goodbye
On May 9th your son said hello
Our lives changed again this year
Still hard to believe it's so
Knowing your address was Heaven
With the Master by your side
Greg joined the Spiritual Family
With no pain and joyful abide
The two of you now together
On earth you had so little time
On the other side is Infinity
Death balms the earthly kind
You, your son, Grandma, the others
Who took God's Path and died
Will live in our hearts and minds
Until we take the Ethereal Ride.
