Someday, they will learn to love Forgetting how to hate. Someday, they will forget who they are, Worshipping mountains of gold. Someday, they will listen to me And hear the Word. But now they scream and they bicker Like ignorant beasts. They see only what what is in their minds, Not what is in their hearts. But, someday, they will listen to me And hear the Word. They forget the heavenly light That one night, holy, when I was born. They forget the songs of hope and love That filled the sky. Oh, someday, they will listen to me And hear the Word. Someday, they will know and not have to be told That someone needs their love. Someday, they will give that love As freely as the falling rain. That is when they will listen to me And hear the Word.
